It's not Chris Matthews's job to inform viewers? Maybe so, but it would be his job if he were a journalist.

Inform viewers of what? He had two Congressional representatives there, each one to speak for their candidate. And you want to blame Chris Matthews because Senator Watson can't answer the simplest question? Like naming one legislative accomplishment?

I think Chris Matthews did an excellent job here as a journalist.

Take your castor oil like a man, Obama fan.

Matthews does his job quite well.

But what he did in this case wasn't journalism. A little too bereft of context to pass for journalism...

You ask:

No. Neither KCinDC, nor Hilzoy, never anyone here wants to do that.

This has been another iteration of Simple Answers To Straw Man Questions.

Accomplishment means accomplishments - not would have, should have or in the works. You did not report on his successful support of the nuclear power industry, weakening bills to regulate the industry. You do not mention his appointment of an Arabist, anti Semitic from Carter's reign to be his foreign policy adviser.

Go here and think twice about who is behind Obama mania - http://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/

"You do not mention his appointment of an Arabist, anti Semitic from Carter's reign to be his foreign policy adviser."

For those who haven't heard this one, it's supposed to refer to the dreaded Zbigniew Brzezinski, Jimmy Carter's NSC Advisor, under whom the horrific Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty was signed.

As everyone recalls, that was just a cover for insidious Arab plotting, and led to the subsequent invasion of Israel by Egypt, as well as the state of constant war that has existed ever since.

Or something like that. Heaven forfend something like the Camp David Accords should ever happen again. Or that we advocate anti-Israeli thoughts like talking to Hamas.
