Phil: I'm glad to hear it. Just wanted to point out that before you said that, Jes had no particular reason to draw conclusions one way or the other. -- For all any of us know (and I'm not in any way asking for details), it could have been one of those horrible inter-family things, in which people have to choose which person they love to believe has done something horrible.

False accusations are always horrible, but especially when they're accusations of a very serious crime. Whether they are better or worse than anything else has, as far as I'm concerned, no conceivable bearing on anything.

Might I add that it's certainly a Very Good Thing that no rapes are ever committed against people who are being held in juvenile detention centers or in prisons awaiting trial. A Very Good Thing indeed.
