... that it's a bad thing to blog just to give your readers something to read. I dunno if that's true or not, but it's been a busy week for me (had to actually concentrate on work for a change; oh, the horror), so here's an open thread. If you're strapped for a comment, I wouldn't mind somebody explaining why this site's daily traffic has been going steadily up while the percentage of our posts that get linked to by other sites has been going down, but that's just me*.

*Just so you know, I find that particular situation to be bemusing, not worrisome.
What kind of traffic do you get?

Is there a corrolation between the increased traffic and the announcement of the gay marriage ban? I've been noting on all the political blogs that commenting has increased on posts about this very topic.
Undoubtably this is because the Christian fundies are out in force to try and stomp on any support for gay marriage.*
As for the decline in the number of links, this is undoubtably because the Christian fundies are no longer linking to your site because your views on gay marriage do not reflect their bigoted views.**

Very possibly: it had peaked at about 3200 daily page hits then and is back down to about 1700ish now (that might just be the weekend, though). As for conspiracy theories... shoot, we tend to get linked by people who tend to be at least libertarian-friendly, so all in all, I kinda doubt it. :)
