... or, "So, Why does Moe have Marxists in his blogroll?"
Short answer: Because I feel like it.
Long Answer: Michael Totten is justifying having Norm Geras in his blogroll. Given that I have Doctor Geras in my personal blogroll as well (not to mention Socialism in an Age of Waiting), I suppose I should say why.
Partially, it's because of the fact that both sites are examples of people who have come to the same conclusions as myself on certain topics even though they're working from entirely different assumptions. And partially it's because it is helpful to get alternate viewpoints, especially if they're ones that won't make you pound the wall in frustration (as opposed to ones that just make you splutter; those are fine). And, yes, there are the opportunities for cognitive dissonance.
But, really, it's mostly because I like reading them. Norm doesn't especially wear his Marxism on his sleeve and can actually talk about stuff without trying to fit it into a larger framework... and as for the SIAW crowd, well, they've got a functioning sense of humor and everything, and you get the impression that if you bought them a beer, they'd drink it, say something interesting while saying it and make sure that they stood their round in return.
That's nothing to sneeze at, either.
Well, has anyone actually bugged you about having a Red or two on your blogroll?
(After all, if Michael Totten and his friends jumped off a bridge, would you feel you had to do that too?)

In other news, as the last few hours of voting tick down, Obsidian Wings is still in fifth place. We've closed to within a few votes of fourth; but, on the other hand, the annoying On Beyond Azure has closed to within a single vote (yikes!) of us.
It's still not too late to vote, especially since you can re-vote every twelve hours. And it only takes five seconds, and you get to vote for everyone else too.
Come on, gang... on last push. For von, for Katherine, and of course, of course, for Moe.
