Well, it's official: I've succumbed to the Dark Side of the Force and started a blog.
It was probably inevitable; Lord knows I like to ramble on about things, and it's not too surprising that I'd eventually take it up to the next level, or whatever the phrase is. So, here we are, at this time, in this place, and now we figure out where to go next. Time to let me tell you how this is going down.
First off, it's a group blog. I've got two fellow-posters here - I won't give names yet, as I don't know whether they want to use a handle or not - and we'll all be making entries. They're both smart people who can write in a straight line, so that's all right, then. I'm pretty sure that I won't agree with them all the time, but I don't expect that I'll feel sorry for inviting them in.
Second, this is not, strictly speaking, a Right-wing blog: it's pretty much a centrist one. While I carry my Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy card with pride, my fellow-bloggers do not. They aren't froth-at-the-mouth Bush-haters, mind you - which will probably disqualify them as being on the Left for a very small yet vocal group of people - but they are most assuredly not Republicans. I look forward to their insights and challenges to my own ideological leanings. I also have a somewhat larger list of people (of varying political beliefs) whom I'm going to hit up for special guest posts from time to time: but for at least the start, three bloggers is probably an optimal number to regularly post here.
Third, this is not going to be a completely political weblog, either. Mostly political, yes: but there will be nonpolitical entries a go-go and as the spirit moves us.
Fourth, I've just violated the Rule of Three, so I'd like to thank the people over at Tacitus for nagging me into getting a blog and Tac himself for the helpful suggestions. He didn't suggest the layout, so don't blame him for the color scheme.
Moe
Go Moe! Best o' Irish luck to ye...

Damn you! I spend enough, ok, too much time on the net already, now I've got to frequent here too?
Good luck!

Best of Luck!
You three should indeed make up an excellent team.

Hey, Moe! Von! Katherine! Great new team.

I lurk around Tacitus' site and I have found the comments from the three of you to be among the most interesting and enjoyable to read. So I really look forward to reading what you have to say here.
Good luck!

'bout time! Congratulations and adding it to my reading list now. But what's the origin of the name?

Oh and also -- is there any way to implement a "recent comments" function for a sidebar somewhere so we can keep track of the latest updates in the scintilating discourse going on here? Just wondering if it can be done with typepad here.

Congrats and good luck.
I'm sure the three of you will provide many stimulating discussions, and I'm glad it's Katherine and von representing the dark side here - I respect both of you as thoughtful commentators, though I may disagree with many of your positions.
I'll be back..

Huzzah! Consider yourself bookmarked and frequented. You're all fine, fine commenotors and fine bloggers-to-be, I'm sure.

Congratulations on taking the leap! I'm looking forward to reading your stuff here, too. I think this will be a nice mix, and will provide endless fodder for conversations.

Heh, cool.

mc, recent posts now show up. Alas, they aren't including text of the posts: that's probably as good as we're likely to get for now. :(

Cool, thanks!

I am looking forward to reading more of the three of you. Even though reading black on the dark blue is a bit difficult... the contents might just be worth the effort ;-))

Congrats to the three of you on the new endeavour. Now I can get less work done than before!

BTW, ditto. I learn a lot reading Tacitus but find the "indignant braying" atmosphere a bit chilly on occasion. Please convince spc67 and Jordan to post here frequently.

It pleases me strangely to realize that I know where the title comes from. (I suppose "Grunts from the Grigori" would have been too obvious...)
[ctrl-B] Added to the favorites. Best of luck!
