I see that things with Brexit are looking increasingly problematic:
Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab is encouraging drug companies to stockpile extra medicine in case supplies cannot get onto the island after a no-deal Brexit. All of which is to say, the UK is heading for a dire mess. Thanks, in part, to an industrious disinformation by Russia on behalf of Brexit before the referendum. But the British seem to be stuck between saying “We know that the Russians interfered with our referendum, so we’re discarding the results and thinking again” and just going forward with a “no deal Brexit” – which is pretty much a formula for economic disaster.
It’s not unlike us in the US, knowing that the Russians engaged in a massive social media disinformation campaign in favor of Trump, but no sure how (or even whether) to factor that in to his actions as President. Except that the Brits can at least have the government say “we’re ignoring a tampered with vote”; we don’t have a way to do that.
Perhaps the folks here from the UK can tell us if things are really not all that bad....
