Somehow, I missed this remark President Bush made yesterday, about Iraq:

"I thought we would succeed quicker than we did, and I am disappointed by the pace of success."

This reminds me of an anecdote from college. Fred Savage (yes, that Fred Savage) happened to be in a constitutional law class with me and was attempting to answer a question on why the President had the power to do something. He answered, "well, he's the commander, and the chief."
