Greg's an old friend (as you might note from my listing on his blog); I've done a fair amount of freelance work in various capacities on various projects for past firms of Greg and Eric Goldberg. Mostly Kevin Maroney hired me, though. Mostly for Crossover Technologies, which died and morphed into Unplugged.

Fun wasn't always mandatory, but I've had worse work.

I think that I've had about one email conversation with Greg: I was adapting Paranoia to another game system (for strictly amateur, fan use only, of course) and wanted to make sure that I wasn't stepping on any toes before I put it on the Internet. He was helpfulness personified.

Yeah, Greg's a very nice, easy-going, guy.

I suppose I should make clear we were never close buddies; just casual friends in a web of mutual very close friends, who have known each other for man years. (I've known his sweetie, Ellie Lang, for about fifteen years; she used to be engaged to my old room-mate Tom Weber (now "scraps"), whom I've known for about 24 years, etc., etc., that sort of thing, with a variety of other mutual close friends orbiting around each other.

I have no fabulous Greg anecdotes. I am merely nattering. I could do the same about being friends with some founders of the SCA, whom I've known for about thirty-one years, but I'd just be pushing the limits of my name-dropping then. Go forth and hack and drink. But first: reveal thy name.

Bouncy Bubbly Beverage, was it?

This was one of my failed attempts at playing RPG's back in the early '90's. I think, as a rule of thumb, I prefer my hobbies to require less paperwork than is involved in filing my income taxes. And I file in two states, so that's a pretty low bar.

"Go forth and hack and drink. But first: reveal thy name."

SCA name, you mean? Lord Morgan O'Lathlann. No dramatic revelations there, alas. :)

Sweet! Now I can get over my red level yellow clearance black box blues.
