Listed below are links to weblogs that reference 94. Crucifixes do not ward off officers, and I should not test that.:

'Tis a beautiful thing, Moe. It brought a tear to me eye.

Nothing there about not naming military operations after Patrick Swayze films, I note...

I am not the atheist chaplain.

I have absolutely no trouble imagining it as the work of one demented individual, and I know a few people who would snicker at the list and say, "That's nothing, let me tell you about..."

For example, I knew someone who, during Operation Just Cause, claimed Panama for Meridies. He put up a flag and everything, and presented photo documentation to the Crown upon his return.

I've personally been asked to go get 100 yards of flight line, and I've also led a cadence about the joys of eating crawfish, with the magnificent chorus of "Bite their heads off/ Suck their guts out/ Damn, that's good!"

I think a lot of it has to do with people who watched "Stripes" or "Good Morning Vietnam" too many times before joining the military, but unit smartasses are a long tradition.
