It's like they looked into my brain. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow has a very high chance of sucking, but it'll look good doing it. Obsidian Wings has more. [Read More]

Thanks for that link. The film looks fantastic. You might find this site interesting www.irobotnow.com Initially I thought it was someone showing off their technical skills, but it looks like it is a trailer site for a new film. I want one now.

Question is how epic they can get on it.

It sounds like the sort of thing they should do as a television series - if they could get the budget. Reminds me of the Buster Crabbe 'Flash Gordon' serials.

It's going to suck. Well, at least the acting part of it's going to suck. (It's got Angelina Jolie doing a British accent. How could it not suck?) But as I mentioned to my friends after we saw the preview yesterday, it's the kind of movie I'd be perfectly happy to go see with a pair of noise-cancelling headphones.

Looks good to me. Tho' Hollywood's record with retro sci fi fun is not all that stellar -- remember Rocket Man? (Well yeah, but what about Iron Giant? Okay. I refute myself!!)

Anyway. Looks good to me.

Mr McMuffin,

it's definitely a film or tv series:

Fox Filmed Entertainment ("Fox FE") is part of the News America Group

Still I love their site.

You guys didn't know about I, Robot? It's a film adaptation of Isaac Asimov's story/stories, starring Will Smith. Comes out next year.

The trailer ran before the showing of Return of the King I saw yesterday. The "3 Laws Safe" bit at the end was a dead giveaway for anyone who's read Asimov's stuff.

Duh. I, Robot, of course, comes out this year. Stupid calendars.

Harley, do you mean The Rocketeer?

I LOVED that film.

Oh. Wait. I should clarify. By 'film', I mostly mean 'Jennifer Connelly'.
