I have virtually no time to blog today, but I wanted to note that General Clark's recently-unveiled tax plan gets it pretty close to right. There's fine print to parse, of course, but the headline is "Modest tax increases for the very wealthy (over $1 million), modest tax cuts for the people making under $100,000."
Matthew Yglesias offers some further thoughts at The American Prospect Online.
I would love to see a tax system structured that way. It is an excellent presentation, and an excellent campaign strategy--by far the most compelling domestic proposal from Clark so far. Clark makes it very easy, in a way that Gore never did, for many people to see which plan is in their economic interest. And he makes a straightforward defense of progressive taxation, without dithering in fear of the inevitable charges of "class warfare."
Here is my caveat, and it's a big one: can we possibly afford this? Maybe with corporate tax changes and restoration of the estate tax, but without them, I don't see how. And if Clark makes this the starting point for negotiations he will get much less from Congress.

A- do you support president George Bush?

If you do not want to answer these questions them i am sorry for bothering you, just wanted a little background as to where you got your politcal understanding from because i admire it.
